About Grief Recovery

Grief Recovery

Godly Grieving

If you are struggling with a loss, we are deeply sorry. Loss and suffering are inevitable parts of life and can take many forms, as in the death of a loved one, or the loss of health.

Grief Recovery is a short-term, nine-week small group that meets to help those grieving.

The importance of grieving in Christ is to experience the pain and grieving while walking toward the Lord. Grieving is important work. While it can be tempting to avoid the pain of grieving, avoidance can often lead to other life-altering problems. Our goal in Grief Recovery is to bear your burdens with you, while directing you back toward the Lord as you grieve.

The Bible says that we are "pressed, but not crushed." However, it can sometimes feel as though we were crushed. Shannon Welty has dealt intensively with her own grief and the grief of others. God, in His mercy, has used her grieving experiences to draw her near to Him. Her grief brought her into a deeper understanding of who God is and how much He has really blessed her. "I clung to God by a thread, but He taught me that there was so much blessing through suffering."
