Thank you for asking for information on the Premarital Counseling Ministry at The Village. We are excited to help you begin your life together on the firm foundation of a Christ-centered marriage.
In our premarital counseling program, engaged couples are paired with an older mentor couple who walk them through our curriculum based on the book and workbook, "When Sinners Say I Do." Engaged couples are assigned on a first-come-first-served basis. You will meet with your mentoring couple for six sessions (usually once a week in their home) for about two hours. The cost for premarital counseling is $15 to which you will pay when you log on with Foccus to take a premarital inventory, plus the purchase of the book and workbook which you will order on your own.
Because of the high demand of this ministry, please allow a 5 month wait for the program. Also, we are working toward having mentors available at each campus but in the meantime you may be matched with a mentor from a different campus than the one you attend. To help with this, please make sure to register for counseling under the campus that you attend. You can change to the correct campus campus website by going to the "choose a campus" drop-down menu at the upper right-hand corner of this page and selecting correct campus.

To sign up for Premarital Counseling at The Village, follow the steps below:
Complete Registration Form
Fill out and submit the registration form at least five months before your wedding date.
Wait for Confirmation
Once you have received confirmation that you are on the waiting list, you can order the materials.
Order Materials
Order two copies per couple of When Sinners Say "I Do" and When Sinner's Say "I Do" Study Guide by Dave Harvey. These can be ordered here:

Complete FOCCUS Test
You will be emailed passwords for you and your fiancé to take your FOCCUS test online. Whoever logs in first to take the Foccus test will be prompted to pay the $15. The test is meant to be taken separately without input from each other. Once you are finished, e-mail Janet Chandler to let her know.
Matched With Mentor Couple
Once you have completed the FOCCUS test, you will be matched with a mentor couple and given their contact information. Contact them to set up a time to begin your premarital counseling. It is your responsibility to do this within a week of receiving their contact info.
Complete Homework
Make sure you have completed the homework assignment each week before you meet. You can find all the homework assignments in the homework assignments section.
