Transform

Serving Your City

Transform exists to move church members to engage the community in a purposeful and powerful way. Transform is relationship-focused and is designed to achieve three goals: 1) build relationships, 2) focus on education and 3) serve in community. This year, Transform will kick off with a day of helping teachers prepare for the beginning of the school year. We will do this by helping teachers move into their classrooms, while doing some improvement projects around their campus.

Then, in the afternoon, there will be a back-to-school celebration for students and families which will include food, bounce houses, concerts and a backpack and school supply give away. Our hope for Transform is that the relationships that begin this day will continue throughout the year as individuals mentor students and home groups adopt a teacher at a local school.

Got Questions?

We have compiled a list of Frequently Asked Questions that will help you as you prepare for Transform.

Ways to Serve

  • Pray — Pray for the schools, students, teachers, parents, school administrators, volunteers from The Village and volunteers from other churches and organizations.
  • Volunteer

We will need thousands of volunteers in Denton, Lewisville and Dallas. The event is designed for individuals and families to participate together. Families with children three and older are welcome.

  • Mentor a Student —Thousands of students in our community need an adult that can pour into their lives. Through student mentoring, you can discover how one hour per week can make a huge difference in transforming the life of a child.
  • Adopt a Classroom —Teachers in our local community have very difficult jobs where great demands and expectations often collide with too little resources. We are looking for small groups of believers to commit to love and encourage a teacher in a local school over the next school year. This can include prayer, support for classroom materials and bringing snacks for testing weeks among other things.
  • Back-to-School Supply Drive — In an effort to assist local families and schools in conjunction with Transform, we are accepting backpacks filled with the following supplies on Sundays until Aug.8 in the foyer. These supplies will be handed out as a part of our Transform back-to-school celebrations on Saturday, Aug. 14.
    • No. 2 pencils
    • Wide-ruled composition notebooks
    • Blue, black and red pens
    • Rulers
    • Wide-ruled spiral notebooks
    • Colored pencils
    • Large boxes of Kleenex
    • Wide-ruled notebook paper
